Adults are actually more upset with Greta for calling a spade a spade rather than at the spade its self. The spade in this situation being climate change. This isn’t the first time us adults fucked shit up and told the younger generation not to worry about it until they get older and are dealt with the growing issues we started and didn’t fix because us adults are trash.

Kids are trash too so it’s important that us adults highlight the youth who show more signs of wisdom and maturity than the adults who are basically telling them to know their place and shut their mouth. We should be celebrating youth who care about the world we live in because we fucked it up. We meaning adults. What the old heads tend to do is fuck up everything forcing the younger generation to come pick up the pieces but then tell them they shouldn’t worry about the mess they [old heads] made. What sense does that make? How fair is that?

As someone who was once “the youth” I can identify with teens like Greta who feel strongly about “adult issues” like the environment and society in general because young people have to deal with these issues, too. It’s not like all the troubles in the world have age restrictions we are exposed to the moment we become adults. Climate change effects all ages. Racism effects all black people despite our age. Sexism effects all female humans despite their age and so on and so forth.

So telling teens to not worry about issues that effect them while worsening those issues or doing nothing about it is flat out dumb. Y’all [old heads] want to talk about millennials and younger generations being lazy? All I see are millennials and younger folks trying to make the world a better place to live in. If we’re really being honest here it’s the older generation who are fucking up the planet literally and figuratively speaking but you’re not ready for that conversation.
