My “New” Love Language.

For the majority of my love life, my primary love language was “acts of service.” Nothing said “I love you, Ernest” more than taking a load off of me. Take that however you want. It’s been while since I last did my love language test, here are my current results

Acts of service was my number one in the past, followed by quality time and words of affirmation. Before taking this test, I knew something about my love changed. I felt like I was turning into the clingy lover. Then I felt like I owed an apology to all of my clingy ex’s. In all seriousness, a recent situation made me realize that I’m a much different lover than what I’ve always been and it only took me 16 years from my first relationship at 15 to make a change.

I share this information mainly to tell y’all that your love language from five to ten years ago may not be your love language now. There’s nothing wrong with that because whatever your heart is desiring at this current moment in time, you still deserved to be loved properly. Don’t be ashamed of the “new” you. We tend to notice when we aren’t being properly loved by a partner, but have you ever thought about about properly loving yourself? You won’t grow with outdated mindsets and behaviors. I think the same can be said about your personal love language.
