“Everybody Is a Gay.”
Everybody is a Gay says this bisexual woman that I know. Her reasoning for this opinion she calls a fact? Because everybody watches porn and you are exposed to naked bodies from men and women while watching porn. She’s told me this multiple times and multiple times I tried to see if she would eventually change her mind and realize how stupid and ignorant she sounds but she didn’t so I’m just going be the terrible “friend” that I am and write about this conversation we had and share my uninterrupted thoughts on this idea.
Her: Everybody is gay or at least a little gay.
Me: …
Her: Think about it. If you watch porn and you’re looking at a naked man, you’re gay. Even if that naked man is fucking a naked woman.
Me: *thinking* I don’t think homosexuality works that way…
Her: Same goes for women. If a woman is watching porn and is turned on by seeing a naked woman get fucked by a naked guy, she’s also gay (lesbian).
Me: *thinking* Again, that’s not how homosexuality works…
This conversation went on longer than it needed to be so I’ll spare you all the rest of the “conversation” and summarize the rest of the conversation. So she goes onto saying men showering with men and women showering with women made them gay (gay as in being sexually attracted to the same gender). I had the same remarks I had all “conversation” long.
“That’s not how homosexuality works.”
There’s so much wrong in this train of thought I want to attack it all at once to save me from writing a bunch of shit, but if that’s how this post is going to be, that’s how it’s going to be. I can’t be a writer and fear lengthy writing projects so here it goes. I’ll start with the porn scenario since I like porn. Watching porn makes someone gay sounds like a point a Christian extremist would make and surprisingly this woman is an atheist who has vocally trashed Christianity and praised satanism. So why would she make a statement like that? I’m no psychologist but it sounds like she’s projecting a lot of insecurities on others by calling everyone else “gay” so she feels “normal” for being bisexual. What this woman doesn’t know is she and other members of the LGBTQ Community aren’t meant to be boring normies. The moment she fully realizes that she’ll most likely not try to tag everyone gay for doing “normal” shit like finding pleasure in porn or taking showers. Lastly this point is so fucking stupid because people get naked in porn cause that’s how you fuck. I can’t speak for all men, but I watch porn because I wish I was fucking the woman in that scene. Whatever sexual act is being done to the woman or the woman doing to the man it’s simply because I’m imagining myself in the man’s shoes (or feet because there’s no shoes in the porn I watch because butt naked nasty sex is the best sex). This woman would have a point if I watched gay porn and was turned on by it and that being the only porn that I found pleasure in. Basically what would make someone gay/lesbian is if someone is sexually attracted to the same gender AND ONLY the same gender. A man being exposed to a naked body doesn’t make him gay especially if that naked body does nothing to him sexually. You mean to tell me athletes and fire fighters are gay/lesbian because they have to “hit the showers?” Seriously if you think this feel, get a brain.
You also don’t know how problematic you are being saying stupid shit like “watching porn and showering with people of the same gender makes one gay.” As I stated before there’ve been a bunch of Christian extremist who’ve made ridiculous statements like that. The only difference between this woman and them is she’s an openly bisexual woman who claims to be an ally of the community and hasn’t tried conversion therapy (torture) in order to get members of the LGBTQ Community to be “DEEEEELIVEEERRRT!”
All in all people watch porn and if you’re job entitles it take showers with your co-workers without fearing you’re going to be labeled gay. Not that you should fear that label. I’m just saying be yourself comfortably and don’t let insecure people tell you otherwise. Whether they are straight or not.
